 Portugal and India share a common history, marked by the beginning of globalization, the fusion of different cultures, knowledge and experiences, and all despite the hard facts of colonial rule. This past is now a matter for historians. Today’s agenda between Portugal and India aims at much wider horizons.

On the other side, we have Portugal, an ancestral European country which, over the last thirty years, has been witnessing rapid socio-economic change. It is now stepping into the global limelight as hub of scientific and technologic excellence and as a strategic platform between Europe, America, Africa and Asia.
As before, Portugal continues to play the important role of an inter-continental broker, mediating, translating and facilitating.
This is a great asset to India’s emerging aspirations in Africa and Latin America, where millions of people speak Portuguese and hundreds of Portugal’s finest companies and businessmen have set strong roots. |
